“Whaddya doing Max?” a father shouted at his 5-year-old when his son stood looking longingly at the snack bar. “We came here to go on the water slides! We’re going on the water slides! C’mon!”
The little boy reluctantly but obediently turned to follow his father.
I watched them get in line. It was a hot summer day but the waterslides at Emigrant Lake were not too crowded. This was the first time we had been to them and I couldn’t help thinking we had found the perfect activity for a Friday afternoon.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – August 14, 2007 – The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with Mattel Inc., today announced a series of new voluntary recalls of the following children’s toys. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – September 4, 2007 The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the Mattel, Inc. announced today three new toy recalls affecting ten toy products because of lead paint. Parents are urged to immediately take the recalled toys away from children and return the product in order to receive a free replacement toy. You know you have a shoe problem when your 4-year old owns more shoes than you. Recently, I went into my daughter’s closet to get a pair of “fancy” shoes for going out and I was amazed to see how many pairs of sneakers, Mary Jane’s, “princess” shoes, slippers, etc. were cluttered on her floor.

Dear Mrs. Pickle,
I have a 6-month old daughter who has regularly napped since she was born- usually once in the morning around 10 (unless she wakes up very early and needs an additional earlier catnap) and once in the late afternoon around 3pm. She would definitely sleep around 2 hour stretches for both when I hold her. But the minute I put her down- Bam! She wakes up and can’t get herself back to sleep without me soothing her (nursing and or rocking). I am a stay-at-home mom and didn’t mind being chained to the couch

At the end of last year, perhaps as a Christmas present to us all, Disney released the most charming movie of the year. “Enchanted”, which managed to top the box office charts and show a strong presence at the Oscars, is now available on DVD.
