FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE — Solon, OH – June 19, 2009 – Nestlé USA’s Baking Division is initiating a voluntary recall of Nestlé® TOLL HOUSE® refrigerated cookie dough products. Nestlé is taking this action out of an abundance of caution after being notified that the Food and Drug Administration, together with the Centers for Disease Control, are conducting an investigation into reported E. coli 0157:H7 illnesses that may be related to consumption of raw cookie dough.
A number of consumers reporting illness reported consuming raw Nestlé TOLL HOUSE refrigerated cookie dough. While the E. coli strain implicated in this investigation has not been detected in our product, the health and safety of our consumers is paramount so we are initiating this voluntary recall. We have been and will continue to cooperate fully with the Food and Drug Administration and the Centers for Disease Control in this investigation. Providing safe, high quality products to our consumers is our number one priority.
No other Nestlé TOLL HOUSE products are impacted, including already baked TOLL HOUSE cookies purchased outside the home, all varieties of Nestlé TOLL HOUSE morsels, chocolate baking bars, or cocoa, and Dreyer’s and Edy’s ice cream products with Nestlé TOLL HOUSE cookie dough ingredients.
We want to strongly advise consumers that raw cookie dough should not be eaten. This message also appears prominently on our packaging. Nestlé TOLL HOUSE cookies made from refrigerated dough are safe to consume when baked as directed on the package. Consumers who have purchased these products should not consume them. Instead, we are asking that consumers return these products to their local grocer for a full refund. We invite consumers with questions to contact Nestlé Consumer Services at 1-800-559-5025 and visit our web site at www.verybestbaking.com.
The products involved in the voluntary recall include all varieties of Nestlé TOLL HOUSE refrigerated Cookie Bar Dough, Cookie Dough Tub; Cookie Dough Tube; Limited Edition Cookie Dough items; Seasonal Cookie Dough and Ultimates Cookie Bar Dough. Variety information is included in the list below.

Gosh, which bad parenting moment shall I choose? First time I ever took my child out of the house, about 3 weeks old, I forgot her bottle AND her pacifier! That child screamed and squalled the whole time we sat in the doctor’s office! The others in the office could tell I was truly a new mom. Their looks didn’t help matters. I was a puddle of sweat and swore to never leave the house again without back up paccy’s in the car! YIKES! Great website and a great motivation for us “normal moms”.

Today’s top headlines for parents
With the help of the federal Children’s Health Insurance Program, 13 states states have acted to get medical coverage for 250,000 kids.
Whether they are low maintenance or super difficult, your baby’s temperament may have nothing to do with you as a parent and everything to do with a certain gene and brain activity pattern.

Now that the weather is warm, it?s time to fire up the grill!? Backyard barbeques offer a great way to get outdoors and relax with friends and family. ?Like any of life?s activities, some choices are greener than others.? But don?t fret.? Instead of agonizing over every barbequing decision, consider integrating a few eco-friendly changes in your repertoire this summer.? Or, throw one big Green BBQ Party, challenging yourself and guests to go green with a bang.

The dumbest thing I’ve done to date is totally freaking out about the first bump on my son’s head and calling 911! I’ve now learned better now and if they cry and the bump swells out, then they’re okay and just need comfort and/or distraction from the pain. Thanks for a place to post about parenting mishaps without harsh judgment like my family likes to give:)

Summer break is one of those unmentionables in the parenting world. For three whole months, teachers are freed from the honorable duty of teaching your kids, leaving you playing not only the role of parent, but of general caregiver and instructor, as well. So, even though the sun is shining and you’re supposed to be basking in the glory of the season, it’s entirely possible that all you dream of is those crisp fall days when the kids are back where they belong

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed.
Name of Product: Epic Threads and Greendog Hooded Sweatshirts
Units: About 33,000
Importer: Macy?s Merchandising Group Inc., of New York, N.Y.
Hazard: The sweatshirts have a drawstring sewn at the base of the hood which can pose a strangulation hazard to children. Incidents/Injuries: No injuries reported.
Description: This recall includes boys and girls Epic Threads sweatshirts and girls Greendog sweaters with nonfunctional ties in numerous styles. The Epic Threads sweatshirts are white, gray, maroon, yellow, blue, green, and black, with images on the front and/or back. The girls Greendog sweaters are brown and gray. Only sizes small and medium are subject to the recall.
Sold at: Macy?s stores nationwide from July 2008 through March 2009 for between $32 and $50.
Manufactured in: India, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, and Taiwan
Remedy: Consumers should immediately remove the ties from the sweatshirts to eliminate the hazard, or return the garment to any Macy?s for a full refund.

I am not a breakfast in bed type of guy. It’s uncomfortable. It doesn’t make any sense to me. It never has. Why the hell would anyone want to eat a stack of flapjacks and a pound of bacon, while lying horizontal under the covers? It’s bad enough I find remnants of Goldfish crackers under my pillow. I don’t need maple syrup stuck to my sheets. It also makes the room smell and it gives me a headache. Oh and there’s no place to put the Orange Juice either. Please don’t bother.
