I can only remember being kicked in the Nuts once, when I was a kid. It happened on my front lawn when I was about 10 years old. It took me completely by surprise. It always does. The kicker was named Marky Selden. He was the younger son of my parent’s best friends. He was about 4 years my junior and wasn’t very intimidating considering the age difference but he was a wild kid. In hindsight, I should have seen it coming. We were

It’s annoying when they refer to motherhood as a job. I am not saying being a mom isn’t a lot of work, it is, everyone knows that but it’s not a job. I have had jobs.
I am offended when Oprah looks into the camera at us and says “well I always say being a mom is the hardest job in the world”, like she knows. Hi I am Oprah today I am giving advice on motherhood and marriage even though I have virtually no experience at either, next up how to live more frugally. Just once I’d like to see an appropriate Oprah topic, tune in tomorrow when we’ll show you how to throw a fabulous Yacht Christening.

I was at the park pushing my 2-year old on the swing when a woman comes up to me and says that she’s too young to be pushed on that swing. She should be in the baby bucket swing. She had an agenda because there were no other swings available and her older kid was having a hard time waiting. I patiently explained that my daughter prefers the bigger swing. The woman says, “Well I would never let my child call the shots when it comes to safety”. I said back, “And I would never let you call the shots with my child! Back off!”

I decided in my most brilliant of brilliant moments that I would work out five straight days in a row. Success! I reached that goal without a hitch. Feeling self-satisfied but still holding onto a jiggly mess of a stomach from baby number two I embarked on my second week of working out five days in a row.
I Shredded.
I ran, walked, jogged and pilates’d my body until it the sweat was dripping off my wrists and into my burning eye sockets.

My non-perfect parent moment – I used to work nights. It was before I had my 2nd. I would come home from work and get maybe an hour or two of sleep. This basically meant I was a walking zombie. I remember dozing off on the couch and giving my two year old at the time a box of cereal and turning on a cartoon for him to watch. 10 minutes later, I woke up and noticed something all over Chandler’s face. He was saying….”mmmmm….lemmy! (Yummy) He had gotten into a box of chocolates that I had bought the day before and had eaten more than half of them. There were about 30 in the box to begin with. Needless to say he had an upset tummy the next few hours and I felt awful. I know he enjoyed it at the time though…lol. Word to the wise – don’t fall asleep with your two year old roaming your apartment!
