Shoeless and Happy

Posted by: carol, August 15, 2009 in 11:57 am

Yesterday evening my kids (5 and 9 years old) had already showered and were in their pajamas – they were about to go to sleep when the kids across the street knocked on the door and asked them to come out and play – so they went out without any shoes on. I had no problem with that. They were just throwing the ball around on my lawn and riding their scooter. It was not a muddy situation. It’s the summer. No big deal! Well, apparently, the mother across the street disagreed. She thought it was dangerous. She ordered MY KIDS to go inside and get their shoes on. I told her thanks for sending my kids inside as it was time for them to go to sleep. When her kids started whining that they wanted to play. I told them to take it up with their mother!

So Hot I Take My Clothes Off

Posted by: pj, August 10, 2009 in 4:35 pm

“So Hot I Take My Clothes Off!” said my 3 year old.  I noticed her suddenly stark naked standing next to me.  Okay, I get it…it’s a million degrees outside…but couldn’t she have waited until we left the dry cleaners!  I begged her to put at least her shirt back on.  She refused.  A struggle ensued.  I began to sweat even more than I was already.  She was screaming.  The dry cleaners was very hot.  My daughter held firm.  I gave up.  I picked up her clothes and she followed me into the grocery store.  At this point, we were in air conditioning and I thought I would have a better chance.  As I was struggling again to pull the shirt over her head a manager came over and said that she needed to put clothes on.  I almost bit his head off.  We left the store without groceries.
