One day over coffee with my friend Ames we were chit chatting about the recent book fair and how our kids had coaxed us into buying more books than we had intended when she interrupted and commented on how much she loved my new handbag. This bag I asked quizically. I bought this at Filene’s Basement on 72nd and Broadway yesterday — $19.99 I said with glee. Of course you did she said, that’s why I adore you.
Your bag tells me so much about you. Your bags are always new, bright and trendy while at the same time simple with a bargain story behind it. Spot on I said, now you. As I looked at her bag which was an old Cole Haan back pack from a few years ago I said okay my turn I am going to say what adjectives come to mind when I look at your bag; warm, practical, snappy and friendly. Again, spot on we declared. Then we tried out our theory on other people we knew in common and again, spot on.
