Bea coup Baby Shower Favors

I was craving something sugary and sweet so I was thrilled to no end when I reached into my bag and found a party favor from a baby shower I had attended the day before.  I opened it up and discovered some pink and white jelly beans – just the right amount of sugar for an afternoon pick me up.  I glanced at the tin and took note of how adorable it was.  A metallic white tin with a hot pink pram rolling across the front and my friend’s name scripted along

summer infant pottyShit happens. Sometime it happens all over me.  I was in the parking lot of a Target recently when I smelled something foul.  It was very close to me.  I looked down at my smiling angel and knew immediately from whence it came.  By the time I figured it all out I was literally covered in it.  My daughter and I both changed clothes in the car.

Bumbleride Indie Stroller

Posted by: Lisa Dawson, January 18, 2010 in 9:45 am

Bumbleride Indie StrollerMulti-tasking is a mom’s best weapon.  Exercising while entertaining your baby is the ultimate in getting two things done at once.  And there’s no better way to do it than taking a jog with my new Bumbleride Indie stroller.  While my 2 year old is giggling from the fast ride, I can run with my Bumbleride at the same speed I normally would if running alone.  The stroller takes the bumps and uneven pavement in stride.  It’s like pushing air!  We’ve had tons of snow in our area.  The Indie just rolled through it effortlessly.  Even the patches of ice were not a problem.  A smoother ride you will not find.

teddy count with meTeddy Count-With-Me

This bilingual ‘osito’ (bear), is a cute, snuggly teddy bear with a sweet face and much to offer your growing, little sponge. It’s designed for ages 6 months and older and is perfect for my baby boy (6 months)!  He loves it, but actually so does my nearly 4 year old girl! He likes to bite the bear’s paws and squeeze it till it makes noise.  She likes to sing the songs and learn how to say words like bees in Spanish (’abejas’, fyi).  Teddy Count-with-Me, is about so much more than counting.  In fact, it took a while till we even got to that part. The osito knows animal names, nursery rhymes and activities too. I love this teddy…and they do too.  It is a great gift for a baby to grow into -te promiso (I promise)!  ($39.99)

Klutz Activity BooksKlutz Paper Fashions Fancy

‘You look mahvelous dahling ‘…is what you’ll be saying while you play and design with your daughter (or while she designs with her friends or by herself)!  This is a totally creative, incredibly fun, truly thought out activity book. Your mini fashionista (and her fine motor skills) will be occupied for hours. I love this book because it packs in so much and yet is so compact. It comes with tons of stencils (which teach you the names of different types of styles – in case you were unsure of the difference between a ‘blouson’ or a ‘puff sleeve’ shirt), oodles of paper fabrics, glue, jewels and ribbon (for finishing touches) and even tiny hangers for the final masterpieces. It is such a pretty book too, with sample ideas for fancy creations. And,

Stationary Roundup

tiny printsThere aren’t many gifts I can remember getting as a child.  I would hardly say I was deprived, but my parents were of the mentality that a gift given any time of year could be a birthday gift if they declared it one before bestowing it upon me.  So it is with great fondness that I remember a gift given to me by my best friend’s mother upon graduation from high school.  She was an elegant woman, thin, tanned, smiling and a gourmet chef to boot.  I recall her quick “Congratulations dear” after the processional and her unceremoniously handing me a small box.  I assumed it was a book but it was something much more precious – my own, personalized stationary.

The Blink

The BlinkThe Blink is an appropriate name for the new, lightweight, high-performing stroller that Britax recently put out.  It is quick and easy to maneuver.  My little girl is comfortable in it for long periods of time.  By now, I am something of a stroller connoisseur.  I have reviewed a number of lightweight, quick-folding strollers for this column in the past.  My favorite attribute of the Britax Blink is that it incredibly durable.  In fact, I can say that it is one of the best constructed lightweight stroller that I have reviewed. These qualities are truly essential for anyone in the market for a new baby item.  The last thing you want is something that falls apart just when you need it most.
