Young America is hands-down the first place to look when you are looking to furnish your baby’s nursery. This company is committed to excellence in every area and it shows in the quality of their products.
Young America first came to my attention when I was looking for a changing table/dresser that would last well past my daughter’s time in diapers. I am not a good sleeper. Neither was my daughter for the first four months of her life. I was afraid insomnia ran in my family. If you are anything like me, and the parents I know, you may never have heard of BPA, PVC or phthalates until you had your first baby. Suddenly I was checking every plastic bottle and food container in my house to see if there were any toxic chemicals lurking there. To take some of the guessing out of the game there is a fantastic website called The Soft Landing that sells only eating gear and storage containers that are environmentally friendly and nontoxic.

My little girl is not so little anymore. She is taller than most of her tiny cohorts and has recently become interested in more adult things – mostly sitting at the table to dine with the big people. I have to say I was pleased the first time she climbed up onto the big-person chair and sat awaiting her meal. I was less excited when she fell out the back and landed on the floor with a disheartening wail. The thought of a booster seat had never entered my head but suddenly it seemed an unavoidable accoutrement.
