Tiger Woods started playing golf when he was two years old. Recent Dancing with the Stars winner and Olympic gymnast Shawn Johnson started doing gymnastics when she was three years old. Serena Williams started playing tennis when she was four years old. Imagining these athlete superstars before they became famous is the stuff of legends; barely able to walk and talk, they hit rigorous sports schedules and spent grueling hours at the gym, perfecting their crafts and walking a firm path to stardom.

I’m just gonna come right out and say it. I hate the Easter Bunny. As a mother, I have learned to loathe the holiday with great zeal.
Before I say more, and for fear of insulting those who adhere to the holiday’s original Christian meaning, I apologize. I don’t know where this Easter Bunny character came from because quiet honestly, he bears no resemblance to either Mary or Jesus.

Hateball Practice The following is a transcript of an actual phone call. My cell phone rings. “Hello?” I say. The voice, tight with frustration begins. “I did not sign up for this! It’s @*(*(^ freezing out here. My newspaper is ready to be used for papier-mâché. My lower appendages…didn’t know that I have them. Oh wait, there they are. Can’t feel ‘em! If I had wanted to be this cold, we could live in Minnesota where I could prance in the snow….naked.” There is a pause and I hear a breath being sucked into the deep caverns of the caller’s lungs. I half expect to hear the raspy, sexy voice of a (900) number.
