Child Survives Head-on Collision with Train
A car seat is something that parents know is always necessary, but they hope it never needs to perform its ultimate duty – to restrain and protect a child in a crash. One Wisconsin mother unwillingly put her Britax Roundabout to a heart stopping test when her minivan was trapped in front of an oncoming train. The father, following in a separate car, and a nearby police officer rushed to save the mother and the child. The mother escaped, but the men were unable to free the child before the train hit. Amazingly, though the van was badly damaged in the head-on collision, the child and the car seat emerged unharmed.
