Oh honey, I don't judge. I am working on a masters degree in nutritional science and I'm just stating the evidence. I just worked on some research involving omega-3 fatty acids and ADHD, and the science is proven. It's apparent you didn't read my comment; I did not tell this mother that her child was going to "get" ADHD, for Pete's sake, I simply explained that not utilizing the tools of nutrition will inevitably set certain children up for problems later in life. For the record, corn is a grain, not a vegetable, and a highly starchy one at that. Carrots are excellent, kudos that they eat those, hopefully without ranch dressing though. I'm glad that your children do not have behavioral problems; we all want the very best for our children. But omega-3 fatty acids are also found in other foods, maybe your children consume flaxseed or walnuts, or soybean oil. My daughter is two, and while she enjoys salmon, I encourage her eating walnuts and other excellent sources of these essential polyunsaturated fats. My comment wasn't meant to be offensive, rather, enlightening as I would guess that if someone told me that something I was feeding my daughter wasn't the very best for her I would be thankful. Take care!

Judging other parents is not productive Jessica. Lora said that her boys eat carrots, corn and tons of fruit. It sounds like they're eating plenty of healthy food! Telling her that her sons will develop ADHD if she doesn't feed them fish is ridiculous. There are plenty of kids out there who do not eat fish. Mine don't and I'm happy to say they have no behavioral problems whatsoever.

It will be worth the fight, though. Green vegetables are loaded with vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants that aren't as bioavailable in vitamin supplements. And by giving up on the fish fight, you are also denying them an excellent source of Omega-3 Fatty Acids, thereby predisposing them to ADHD. Omega-3 fatty acids support the developmental milestones in the frontal lobe of the brain that prevent behavioral disorders, including ADHD. You are their mother, their only chance at a healthy lifestyle. And you'll be fighting with them a lot more about homework if you don't provide them with the brainpower (through a healthy diet) to finish it.
